Our Services
General Services
BEHAVIORAL MEDICINE | Illness doesn't always have a physical cause. We employ trained animal behaviorists who help determine the cause of such disorders as separation anxiety and obsessive behavior, and then develop a treatment regimen for the client. |
BIRDS, REPTILES, RABBITS AND SMALL MAMMALS | Veterinary medicine for exotic pets is growing as the popularity of these animals increase. With better public education in health, nutritional and environmental management, all species have a greater chance for living longer and healthier lives. We employ staff veterinarians who possess experience in the care and treatments of exotics. |
BLOOD TRANSFUSION | We maintain a supply of blood that is collected from donor pets that live with their owners. Transfusions are available upon an emergency basis depending upon the status of the patient. |
DENTAL CARE | Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. Dental radiographs are taken to determine the presence of bone disease and to prevent the unnecessary extraction of teeth. |
EMERGENCY AND CRITICAL CARE | In any emergency, seconds count. Our experienced staff is backed up by our mobile resuscitation unit, stocked and equipped to administer the ABCs of basic life support – Airway, Breathing, Circulation/Cardiac compressions. Emergency care is offered during regular business hours. In addition, we use the services of a local, fully staffed emergency center. |
ENDOSCOPY | High-tech fiber optics permits direct visual examination and biopsies of your pet’s gastrointestinal system. This allows for more accurate diagnosis and treatment of oral, esophageal, stomach, colon and even upper intestinal tract disease. Foreign objects can also be removed without the need for surgery. |
FULLY STOCKED PHARMACY | We stock a wide range of the best veterinary drugs in the animal healthcare field. |
HOSPICE/EUTHANASIA SERVICES | Saying goodbye to a long-time friend is painful. We work with clients to ensure their pet's comfort and dignity. Services include taking care of the remains as directed by the client. |
IMMUNIZATION AND WELLNESS CARE | We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in Wellness programs has rewards for both pets and owners. Our Wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: Comprehensive physical exam; internal parasite testing; heartworm and flea control; vaccination program; spay and neuter package; and specialized blood tests for all life stages. |
INTERNAL MEDICINE | We cover all areas of internal medicine, including: Cardiology; Ophthalmology; Neurology; Dermatology; Gastroenterology; Orthopedic surgery; Oncology; Endocrinology; among others. |
LAPAROSCOPY | High-tech fiber optics permit direct visual examination of your pet’s abdominal cavity without the need for a large surgical incision. This allows for more accurate diagnosis and treatment of various abdominal diseases and disorders. |
LASERS | Lasers are a minimally invasive alternative to traditional surgery. Lasers replace scalpels in many procedures, and are useful for a wide range of conditions, such as cyst, tumor, and wart removal, and can even be used in declawing. Laser procedures result in less pain; less bleeding and less swelling. They reduce risk of infection and result in less post-operative discomfort. |
MICROCHIPPING | Microchips have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families. We offer the most widely used microchip products to increase the chances of a safe recovery. |
NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING | Some pets require special food, and all pets benefit from a balanced diet. Our trained and certified staff is available to help you choose the right diet for your pet to keep him or her happy, healthy and active. |
PAIN MANAGEMENT | Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care. |
RADIOLOGY | Radiology – or X-rays – help our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular(cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems. |
SURGERY | We offer the most advanced surgical techniques and technology. All patients are carefully screened for safety, and anesthetics are specifically tailored to your pet. Surgical services and facilities include: board certified surgeon available for consultation; fully trained veterinary and technical staff, to ensure the safest, most efficient, state-of-the-art procedures for your pet; heated surgery tables for greater comfort; advanced sterilization techniques; ECG and oxygen saturation monitors; intensive after surgery care and full blood testing. |
ULTRASOUND | This non-invasive, state-of-the-art technology uses sound waves to painlessly examine specific internal organs, primarily the heart and abdominal organs. Pregnancy exams are also available. |
ALLERGY TESTING AND TREATMENT | The discomfort of an itching pet is hard to watch for all of us, and relief is often difiicult to achieve. We have the ability to allergy test your pet, not only for pollen, but also for house irritants, flea reaction, and food allergies. Often the pet can be desensitized to reduce or eliminate the allergic reaction. |
ARTHRITIS CARE AND THERAPY | The occurrence of arthritic changes is common in our pets as they age. We are able to determine the severity and extent of arthritic changes through radiography, and then determine a regime of both relief and exercise to deter the discomfort and lack of activity that arthritis creates. |
CARDIOLOGY EVALUATIONS | Heart disease is a hidden time bomb for many animals. Through the use of echocardiography and EKG's, we can determine the effectiveness of your pet's heart as a pump, and compensate for aging or disease changes. |
DERMATOLOGICAL EVALUATIONS | Skin diseases are often persistent and/or recurring, and the resultant odor, hair loss, and flaking are a problem for both the pet and the client. We can help determine the proper skin care by specialized testing and skin biopsies to maximize the quality of your pet's coat. Medicated baths are available should you not prefer to undertake these at home. |
ONCOLOGY TREATMENTS AND CARE | Cancer is a fearful and devastating disease of pets as well as humans. Early diagnosis is aided by our ability to perform needle biopsies, ultrasound guided biopsis that do not require surgical intervention, and an excellent histopathology service. We are able to provide both chemotherapy and surgical removal of most tumors, and have referral capabilities should radiation therapy be indicated. |
TELEMEDICINE | Included in our services is the ability to send diagnostic information, including ultrasound images, echocardiograms, and radiographs to board certified specialists throughout the United States via the Internet. In this manner we can receive second opinions about your pet's illness without having to send your pet out of town. |
